1st, 8th and 15th September
The above dates have now been confirmed for the series of three Lecture evenings.  We are pleased to announce there are still places available on the DCC discount scheme, so there has never been a better time to join the IAM.

---------------------------------

September 2010
The Group's second training lectures of the year will be taking place.  Once confirmed, details will be placed on the Events page, and published in the newsletter.  We are again hoping that a number of places will be discounted via Dorset District Council (DDC).

---------------------------------

20th March 2010 (national news)
Fifth Gear's, Vicki Butler-Henderson signs up as an associate to prepare for her IAM Motorbike test, see the March 2010 issue of Insight for more details.

---------------------------------

12th March 2010
The second lecture evening was an even greater success than the first, nearly completely filling Committee Room One at County Halll.  Hopefully everyone will make it there for the third and final lecture, which is be covering amongst other things road/lane position.

However a quote note: please make sure that when you park, it is within part of the one-way system, which is marked as "permit holders only" (there is no need to display a permit), and probably more importantly please do not block in any other cars, as some of the parking spaces used tonight blocked in some council staff who were working late.

Looking forward to seeing you all next week.

---------------------------------

10th March 2010
The first lecture evening was a great success with over 60 potential new members turning up.  Lets hope that as many of you as possible can make the second and third sessions, and then continue on the path to becoming a better driver by joining the group.

January 2010
The Dorset Group of Advanced Motorists are pleased to announce that the forthcoming set of 3 lecture evenings which leads into the Skill For Life (SfL) package is available at a discounted price of 50%.  Dorset IAM are able to offer a 50% discount on the SfL Package, as we are working in conjunction with Dorset County Council and Dorset Road Safe.  More details on the lecture evening schedule.  The number of discounted SfL packages is limited and will be allocated on a first-come first-served basis - so ensure you sign up early to avoid disappointment!

---------------------------------

Dorset Group of Advanced Motorists attended the Dorset Road Safe area at the 2009 Great Dorset Steam Fair to promote the IAM to both car drivers and motor cyclists.  To find out more, then the following article provides more details and images of the event.  While many of the visitors to the Great Dorset Steam Fair (GDSF) are not locals to Dorset, we were able to provide back ground information on the IAM, and can help that the people who we spoke to will continue to show an interest once they return home.
