Events and Social Activities

Normally the groups events are based around a motoring theme, as that should cover all of our members - cars drivers and motorcyclists.

17th June, 2008
Unfortuantely Andy Crawley from the Ambulance service will not be able to make his scheduled talk. However Alan Muncaster will instead be talking to the group about Road Systems. Alan works in the road section of the Council.

Andy Crawley from the Ambulance Service with be talking to the group about his work. Hopefully he will be bringing vehicle as well, so we can all see equipment they use (hopefully we can re-schedule this event).

15th July, 2008
Manoeuverability Competition. This will be taking place in the HMP The Verne’s overflow car park on Portland. Head over to Portland and pass through Victoria Square and turn up the hill along Victoria Road, and follow the road round into Castle Road. Take the first left signed as ‘HMP The Verve’ into Verne Common Road. Continue along this road, through the traffic lights and a tunnel, and then to your left is main and then the overflow car park and look out for a three-wheeler. Google Maps link.

As with other years there is no group social activity planned for August.

The AGM will be taking place with a guest speaker of Richard Furneaux who is the Regional Co-ordinator of RLF (Regional Liaison Forum) Meetings.

18th November, 2008
Arthur Curry will be talking to the group about his time spent in the Special Services.

All social events are held on the third Tuesday of the month with a start time of 7.30pm at the Sandringham Sports Centre in Dorchester unless otherwise stated.

Do you know an interesting speaker, or can you think of somewhere interesting that the Group could go to and have a tour around? If so then why not let the events team know your ideas - after all we want to organise events that you will attend!
